May 19, 1980 – PGMC 1st Rehearsal at Metropolitan Community Church in the dank their basement with an out of tune piano & 12 enthusiastic gay men showed up to sing (pic – MCC today is now Steeplejack Brewing Company)

May 8, 1981 – PGMC’s bawdy choreographed acapella recruitment subgroup “The Other Side” performed at the grand opening of gay bar “Somebody’s Place”
May 1987- May 1999 Portland AIDS Memorial Services at various locations with PGMC singing at all of them!

May 17, 2007 – PGMC was awarded the “Urban Pioneer Award” by Portland State University’s College of Urban Studies for PGMCs statewide outreach work. This video “A Brief History of PGMC” was made & shown at this event which we also sang at.

May 15, 2016 – The United Methodist General Conference brought 3000 global church leaders to Portland. A local pastor wanted to inspire inclusion and invited PGMC & Bridging Voices GSA to perform at the Montavilla United Methodist Church.
