Your guide to watching PGMC online virtual events.

Technology is great, but technology can also sometimes not work. We partner with StreamAlly, our third-party platform to offer our Live Streams. PGMC cannot provide customer service or technical support for streaming issues. Below are some common troubleshooting issues around accessing virtual content. If you have issues during the event, please contact help@streamally.live.

Get Started: Ticketing & General Information

  • Select your event at live.pdxgmc.org
  • Follow the reservation instructions along with your contact info. You will not need to login to complete your reservation.
  • Ticket reservations are free. Please consider making a donation to support PGMC during checkout.
  • Once completed, you will receive a confirmation email & a text for each ticket reservation and will include the viewing link. The confirmation email will have “Your viewing link for <>” and is sent from “help@streamally.live”.
  • Your viewing link will also be sent in a separate email the day of the event.
  • Please be sure to check your spam, junk, or promotions folder
  • If you have any challenges, issues or questions with the online reservation, please contact boxoffice@pdxgmc.org. Please do not call the office as we are working remotely and email is the best way to contact Terrill in the Box Office.

No biggie. You will reach the player page with show date/time listed. Clicking early will not impact your ability to watch the event when it is released.

You can view our event on a computer, phone, tablet, or television (see below for more information on technical set up) but only on one device at a time. If you first login in your tablet and then move to your computer, the link will work only briefly on the first device before ending. If you would like different members of your household to watch on separate devices, we recommend registering more than once. You can use the same email address for multiple registrations, but using different emails might make it easier to track which link is which.

StreamAlly player allows viewers to contribute questions and comments by typing them into the Chat room. You can also “Tip” the performers by making a donation during the show.

Technical Setup

You can watch the show on an internet-connected computer or mobile device like a phone or tablet. If you have a Smart TV that allows you to access the internet, you can connect directly on the television. You can also connect your computer to your television or “cast” from a device to your television. See below for specific instructions.
Note that your link only enables streaming on one device at a time. If you start viewing on your tablet and then switch to your laptop, the stream will be available only on the laptop and no longer on the tablet. If you wish to view on multiple devices simultaneously, you will need to register multiple times to receive different viewing links. See more information about watching on TV below.

Virtual events must be viewed in a web browser, whether that is on your computer, tablet, mobile device, or smart TV. There are several options to connect the stream to your television.

Option 1: Connect directly from your iPad, laptop or desktop computer using an HDMI cable
If your TV has an HDMI port, you can use an HDMI cable to connect your device directly to the TV. You may also need an HDMI adapter. Nearly all smartphones and tablets can plug into a TV’s HDMI port using a USB cable. Once connected, you can project your phone’s display onto your TV – whether you’re checking out pictures, watching videos, surfing the web, using apps or playing games. All it takes is one cable, so there’s no need to connect via Wi-Fi or remember any passwords.

Option 2: Using Apple AirPlay/Screen Mirroring
If you are using an Apple device, you may be able to use AirPlay or AppleTV to broadcast the performance on your TV. First, make sure both your Apple devices are on the same WiFi network. It is recommended to open and begin watching the video on your selected Apple device and then click the airplay icon in the top right corner of the video to cast the video to your Apple TV.

Option 3: Using Chromecast (Android)
If you are using Google Chrome on Android devices, Chromebooks or other PC devices or computers, you may be able to use Chromecast to broadcast the performance to your TV.

Most newer model SmartTVs may have Chromecast built-in (here is the Google list of some that do). Otherwise, a Chromecast device can be purchased and used with any TV that has an HDMI port.

Option 4: Roku
First, make sure both your mobile device and Roku device are on the same WiFi network. In order to watch on your Roku device, you must first download the following app on your mobile device for $4.99 and follow these steps:

  • Download App: https://channelstore.roku.com/details/150902/mirror-for-roku
  • Add the Mirror for Roku channel to your Roku device and then open the channel.
  • On your mobile device, open the Mirror for Roku app and mirror your device to your Roku device.
  • Open the link from your email in your mobile browser, rotate your device and click play to watch it full screen.
  • Turn the volume off on your mobile device to enjoy!

Option 5: Email from/through Smart TV
If you do not want to connect your virtual content from a device, you can access your virtual content through your Smart TV’s email or web browser feature. Depending on your Smart TV, most devices have an app feature where you can connect and access your email from you Smart TV. Once you have connected your email account, you can open your email with the virtual content link and access your virtual content on your Smart TV.

If your Smart TV does not have an email app feature, you can also access your email through the web browser feature on your Smart TV. Once you’ve opened your web browser, you can log into your email account and access your virtual content.
