Season 44, entitled “All Together Now”, invites all of us to come together as a community to celebrate, uplift, and to pave new ways forward. This diverse selection of concerts will showcase the many sides of PGMC, at turns making audiences laugh, think, cry, and be inspired to more deeply and joyfully engage with their community. Our first concert, Make The Yuletide Gay, is a festive, irreverent variety show filled with music and comedic delight. Expect the unexpected and be ready to laugh! Then in March, PGMC will showcase its social mission with Go On and Love, a concert that deliberately challenges our chorus and audience alike by examining the world around us, acknowledging systemic violence and oppression–especially against people of color–and asking how we can truly respond in love: with action. Go on and Love will premiere multiple brand new choral commissions, as well as a featured performance of the powerful “Seven Last Words of the Unarmed.” Next, Season 44 continues with PGMC’s annual Cascade Showcase, Human/Nature: a concert featuring an eclectic selection of music celebrating our lives and place in the world. Finally, PGMC will close out our season at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall for an exciting one-night only performance of Our Corner of the Sky: Pride on Broadway. This year’s Pride concert will feature songs from the great pantheon of musical theatre, including classics from the Great American Songbook, new favorites, and a few rarely heard gems, all seamlessly blended in an eclectic program which celebrates and affirms our right to lives of authenticity and joy. There is something for everyone in PGMC’s 44th season, All Together Now!
